Today is the day to HONOR all our FIREMEN that risk their lives on September 11th and the weeks that followed when the Twin Towers fell. I hope this card does these HEROES justice. This is Essential Worker (Fireman) from Paper Nest Dolls. I used Kat Scrappiness Distressed Edge, Zig Zag Nesting, and Cityscape Slimline Dies to create my scene. And to lighten up this post, I have included pictures of my nephew and I playing FIREMAN... at the time I was really into the TV Show Chicago Fire so I bought him a Fireman costume for us to play!
Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: Where were you on 9/11?
A: Me? I was sitting at my breakfast table getting ready for work as a nanny, needless to say we all stayed home glued to the TV that day

Perfect card for today. I was home with one of my sons when we heard the news and we were glued to the tv.
ReplyDeleteAwesome card and pics!
ReplyDeleteI was at work and a co-worker who was at his home called and told me the news. Later in the day my boss set up a small TV in the office where we could keep track of what was happening.
Another adorable image and scene. It's not always easy to fill a tall/skinny card portrait; but you did a great job with your layout. Thanks again for sharing with us at Double Trouble and The Paper Girls.
ReplyDeleteGreat background, love the bold colors! I was home with my two daughters on 9/11 doing our homeschooling, had to stop so we could watch the news. Thank you for joining us at Double Trouble!

I love your card. I checked my answering machine and there was a message from one of my sister's telling me to turn the tv on that the world had gone crazy.
ReplyDeleteWOW what a fabulous card! The details and colours are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing with us at Creative Inspirations, good luck.

I was getting ready to go to work, and my son ran into my room to tell me about the plane hitting the tower. Everyone's first thought was that it was an accident...what a terrible day that way.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card and pictures. I was at home on the phone with a girlfriend that I had called and when that 2nd plane hit I knew it was an attack on our beloved country. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteI was getting ready to go to the gym when my husband called me to tell me. Surreal doesnt cover it! New Yorkers seem to have forgotten, in my experience....
ReplyDeleteLove that you did this using a slimline card format - the buildings make a great backdrop. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble :)
ReplyDeleteLove that cute Fireman card and such a poignant card right now! ...thanks for joining in with this weeks #37 https://polkadoodle.blogspot.com challenge : Nelly DT x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous slimline card. And, love your adorable pictures with your own mini hero fire fighter. Thanks so much for playing along at Time Out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great fireman card to honor them on that fateful day. Really love the skyline background. I too was getting ready to go to work and at first thought a plane hit by accident, but when the second one hit we watched in horror and disbelief.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, love it. thanks for joining us at Polkadoodles Challenge.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card. Love this cute little fireman. My little son Tim would love it too. He just love firemans.
ReplyDeleteI was at home.
