I am SO EXCITED to be Guest Designing for Woodblock Wednesday with Amy Tsuruta! I have so many Woodblock stamps, I just can't seem to peel them off the block because I have such fond memories of when stamping was all woodblock! Amy and I teamed up to make Birthday Cards with our Woodblock stash!
Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: Do you still have woodblock stamps? Which is your favorite?
A: Me? Obviously YES. My favorite are some Whipper Snapper Ones I have.
For my first card, I used a candle stamp that is super special to me because my 98 year old grandma picked it out for me for my birthday probably when she was 70 ;)
I colored it with copics and I added glossy accents to make it shine.
The second card I made is this awesome Birthday Background stamp, I have no idea what company made it, I'm pretty sure I got it from the small craft store I used to work at in High School called The Creative Door.
Similar to the first one, I colored the images with Copics and added the glossy accents for some shine!
For your chance to win my Woodblock Wednesday GIVEAWAY (sorry USA only for this one... they are too heavy)

Oh my gosh! Those Birthday cards are soooooooo cute! I especially love the top card with the candles on top of the cake! I love the rainbow of colors for both of your cards too! I love wood stamps myself also! I have a few too! My favorite stamps are probably the ones with the Victorian ladies on them!
ReplyDeleteI still have tons of wood-block stamps! My favourites are Fluffles the Cat and I really need to give them some love - thanks for the reminder! Your cards are gorgeous - I love the vibrant colours! P.S. Please don't count me in your giveaway - just popping in to say hello!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!! Thanks for playing with me today! Love both of your cards, fun hearing about each of the stamps too!
ReplyDeleteI have lots of woodblock stamps. My favorite ones are the hedgehog sets from Stampin Up. I already subscribed to your blog and follow you on IG.
ReplyDeleteI have only about 15
ReplyDeletewoodblock stamps, most
are Hero Arts.
Your cards are cute!

Super fun cards!! So sweet to share the stories behind both stamps.
ReplyDeleteLove your festive cards!
ReplyDeleteSome of my woodblock stamps are my most favorite! I also choose to leave them mounted... they are like little works of art, and I really love the wood! I have lots of them, and probably my favorites are the Stampa Barbara designs.
Your birthday cards are so fun and colorful. I'm like you in that I can't bear to unmount a lot of my wood block stamps, but I have unmounted some of them. The ones I can't bear to take apart are my House Mouse designs stamps. I took two of them off the block and then had to glue them back on because it was too traumatic!
ReplyDeleteMeghan, these are both darling - LOve the glossy goodness you added to them both - the primary colors work so well for these designs!
ReplyDeleteI came to stamping not long ago, so mostly I buy clear stamps. But I do have a few woodblock stamps that I adore!

ReplyDeleteCute and colorful cards. Yes, I still have my wood mount stamps and still use them. They are like old friends. I don't have a favorite--I love them all! I follow you on IG as waterlily57.
ReplyDeleteLove the bright and colorful primary colors you used on your cards! They are fabulous! I don't have any more woodblock stamps. I converted any that I had to cling stamps (I took them off the blocks). But one of my favorite woodblock stamps that was converted...is a House Mouse stamp. House Mouse is so cute!
ReplyDeleteYour birthday cards are so much fun and I love that you still hang onto your wooden stamps. I actually have a lot of wooden stamps because I kept them from when I was a kid, and also got my mom's hand-me-downs. I think I have more wooden stamps than clear ones!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is this challenge! Thanks to you, I know about it now. Love the bright primary colors you use for the birthday stamp! So glad that you join the fun with my “Show & Share”! WONDERFUL!
