Have you been following all the amazing releases for AUGUST at Digi Doodle Studios? They are full of summery cuteness! Here is Summer Reads! Don't tell my mom but I tore out pages from some of her books and inked them up for my background! I also cut out the definition of READ from the dictionary! CLEVER RIGHT?! Well, this image reminds me of my mom sooooo MUCH! She is in TWO book groups (or should I say wine groups that occasionally discuss the book). This is what she used to do for two weeks during our summer vacations to Pentwater, MI as a child (see below). Scroll down for details on my MONTHLY GIVEAWAY! Great prize this month!
Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: What book have you read or are reading this summer?
A: Me? Voices of Chernobyl... I watched the HBO show and it was TERRIFYING so I had to read more details!
I added some extra embellishments like the sun paper clip and the gems just for some sunshine sparkle!
My mom reading on the beach! |

DeleteCute summer/reading themed card. I like the book page and dictionary definitions you added. I am reading an old book with a collection of short stories.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect!
DeleteThanks for your kind comment on my blog. It was fun to return the visit and to catch up on your posts. I enjoyed seeing everything form your summer crafting session with the littles on down to this cute card celebrating summer reading. Surely she is not reading about the Chernobyl disaster, or she wouldn't look so relaxed! :)
ReplyDeleteHa! True!
DeleteSo glad that you join the fun with my “Show & Share”! WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteLove the image on your card....that could be me because I love to read at our pool! :) Currently I'm reading The Whisper Man (was one of my Book of the Month selections), The Hunger (creepy book about the Donner western expedition) plus started My Sister Rosa. I've read a lot this summer....my favorites so far are Ask Again Yes (BOM selection and also Jimmy Fallon summer book club)...and an oldie titled The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend (such a good book)!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! The image is so deliciously cute and your colouring is great. Love the background book paper and how gorgeous is your mum, I'll keep your secret! Thanks for playing at Uniko, hope to see you join in with future challenges too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love that your cards are so meaningful and what a wonderful photo of your Mom! I am currently reading Love Nina (about a nanny in London in the 80's, fun read) and listening to Where the Crawdads Sing on Audible while I do my housework etc. We just finished watching Chernobyl, it was totally terrifying and shocking!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for joining us at Cute Card Thursday this week!

Deleteoops, I'm embarrassed to say that I don't read books...yeah, I know. I do, however, read to my kids all the time if that counts!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. Love the background paper. Thank you for blessing us with your entry to our challenge at Word Art Wednesday. Leaving you with God's Word in 1 John 3:1 that says, "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him." Have a blessing filled day.
